Separation Agreements and Hear the Child Report

Documentation

There are typically a couple of different types of documents I can support you with creating:

1. A Memorandum of Understanding is a non-binding agreement that states each party's intentions and can be used as a framework for a lawyer to draft a Separation Agreement.

2. A Hear the Child Report is a unique document designed to report the child's view of the issues related to the family breakdown or transition.

The high-level documentation I provide may be sufficient in some cases. In others, it can be used for your lawyer to draft a Separation Agreement and can help you save on lawyer's fees.

Usually, documentation is drafted as a part of the mediation process. However, on occasion, families do not require conflict resolution and can move right to creating a Memorandum of Understanding. These documents may be enough on their own or can be brought to the lawyers to draft a binding Separation Agreement. Since mediators typically cost much less than lawyers' fees, it can be advantageous to have a mediator help you hash out the details.

Whether you require conflict resolution or not, I would love the opportunity to meet with you to learn how I can support your journey.
