Family Mediation

Mediation

There are typically a few reasons why you would want to hire a Mediator:

1. You aren't too far apart in what you want as your shared outcome and you are looking for support in creating a plan for peaceful co-parenting.

2. You have many areas you feel far apart and require dispute resolution to help you come closer together to your desired outcome. The cost of having a lawyer address all of your issues is prohibitive for you.

3. You know that you are going to go to court on at least a few issues and you want to use mediation to solve them so that only items needing litigation have to be resolved through the courts and lawyers.

Regardless of your circumstance, I can support you to get to your desired outcome. What I do isn't magic, but how I do it is!

A Way Forward

MEDIATION CAN INCLUDE:

  • Agreements around parenting time

  • Division of assets & payment of liabilities

  • Conflict resolution with teens & parents

  • Define issues & discuss solutions

  • Create ground rules & family framework

  • Supervised parenting plan, if necessary

My Process

EVALUATE THE CURRENT SITUATION

The initial phase of working together is designed to set a foundation of trust and respect. During the evaluation I am getting to know your family and will be able to identify any gaps in your desired outcomes.

NAVIGATE ROADBLOCKS

My gift is conflict resolution. My unique ability to spot tension, address it with compassion, and work through it in an empowering way helps to guide my clients to a common outcome and peaceful co-parenting.

CREATE A PLAN & SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS

Based on our evaluation, we will create a plan that supports your family system to start working towards the desired outcome. In this phase, we work together as team to make sure everyone's needs are met and the documentation reflects that.

Let's Find a Creative Solution

With over 20 years of experience in Human Services, I've learned that most of us are really good at pointing out what can't be done. During my time at the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) I developed a unique skill of seeing what is possible in stark situations.

I would love the opportunity to hear your story and where you feel stuck, lost, confused and/or defeated and see how I can support you in finding a clear path forward.
